Since its inception in 1982, DSG has conducted strategic planning
and other support projects (on a non-compensated or reduced rate
basis) for non-profit organizations including
the Maryland Health Care Product Development Corporation, the Technology
Council of Maryland, the Greater
Washington Board of Trade, the American
Association for the Advancement of Science (Entry Point! Program)
and VSA Arts, an international organization creating learning opportunities
through the arts for people with disabilities. DSG's founder, John
F. Dealy, has chaired two Statewide Technology Committees for Governors
of Maryland.
Maryland Health Care Product Development
Corporation
John F. Dealy co-led the formation
of the Maryland Health Care Product Development Corporation (MHCPDC),
a 501(c)(3) entity, to provide critical early stage capital
to biomedical companies commercializing technologies in the region.
The founding team worked with federal and state agencies to secure
grants of approximately $6 million.
DSG members have supported MHCPDC's management by assessing investment
candidates, obtaining matching funding commitments from commercial
financing sources, structuring deals, maintaining financial and
administrative records, and monitoring the investment portfolio.
Mr. Dealy served as Chairman of the organization through 2005.
Technology Council of Maryland
For nearly 20 years, the Technology Council of Maryland (TCM)
has operated as a consortium of technology firms (start-ups to large
corporations), federal laboratories, educational institutions and
business support firms located in the state. John Dealy has advised
the organization through his role on the Board of Directors and
Executive Committee. Additionally, Mr.
Dealy and Lisa Marie Ghezzi have
conducted annual strategy planning sessions with
TCM executives.
